ಅಥ ಪಂಚತ್ರಿಂಶಸ್ಸರ್ಗಃ

ತಾಂ ತು ರಾಮಕಥಾಂ ಶ್ರುತ್ವಾ ವೈದೇಹೀ ವಾನರರ್ಷಭಾತ್ |
ಉವಾಚ ವಚನಂ ಸಾಂತ್ವ ಮಿದಂ ಮಥುರಯಾ ಗಿರಃ||1||

ಸ|| ವೈದೇಹೀ ವಾನರರ್ಷಭಾತ್ ರಾಮಕಥಾಂ ಶ್ರುತ್ವಾ ಮಧುರಯಾ ಗಿರಃ ಸಾಂತ್ವಂ ಇದಂ ವಚನಂ ಉವಾಚ||

Vaidehi , having heard the story of Rama from the bull among Vanaras, politely spoke the following lines with sweet words.

ಕ್ವತೇ ರಾಮೇಣ ಸಂಸರ್ಗಃ ಕಥಂ ಜಾನಾಸಿ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣಮ್|
ವಾನರಾಣಾಂ ನರಾಣಂ ಚ ಕಥಾಮಾಸೀತ್ ಸಮಾಗಮಃ||2||
ಯಾನಿ ರಾಮಸ್ಯ ಲಿಂಗಾನಿ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣಸ್ಯ ಚ ವಾನರ|
ತಾನಿ ಭೂಯಃ ಸಮಾಚಕ್ಷ್ವ ನ ಮಾಂ ಶೋಕಃ ಸಮಾವಿಶೇತ್||3||
ಕೀದೃಶಂ ತಸ್ಯ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾನಂ ರೂಪಂ ರಾಮಸ್ಯ ಕೀದೃಶಂ|
ಕಥ ಮೂರೂ ಕಥಂ ಬಾಹೂ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣಸ್ಯ ಚ ಶಂಸ ಮೇ||4||

ಸ||ತೇ ರಾಮೇಣ ಸಂಸರ್ಗಃ ಕ್ವ | ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣಂ ಕಥಂ ಜಾನಾಸಿ||ನರಾಣಾಂ ವಾನರಾಣಾಂ ಸಮಾಗಮಃ ಕಥಂ ಆಸೀತ್|| ಹೇ ವಾನರ ! ರಾಮಸ್ಯ ಲಿಂಗಾನಿ ಯಾನಿ | ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣಸ್ಯ ಚ|| ಭೂಯಃ ತಾನಿ ಸಮಾಚಕ್ಷ್ವ | ( ತದಾ) ಮಾಂ ಶೋಕಃ ಸಮಾವಿಶೇತ್ ||ರಾಮಸ್ಯ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾನಂ ಕೀದೃಶಂ | ರಾಮಸ್ಯ ರೂಪಂ ಕೀದೃಶಂ| ಕಥಾಂ ಊರೂ ಕಥಂ ಬಾಹುಃ ಮೇ ಶಂಸ| ತಥೈವ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣಸ್ಯ ಚ||

Where did you meet Rama. How do you know Lakshmana. How did this friendship between the humans and Vanaras develop. What are Rama's identifying marks and Lakshmana's too. You can tell me again. Then my sorrow will subside. How is Rama's form ? How are his looks? How are his thighs and arms please tell. Similarly Lakshmana's too !

ಜಾನಂತೀ ಬತ ದಿಷ್ಟ್ಯಾ ಮಾಂ ವೈದೇಹಿ ಪರಿಪೃಚ್ಛಸಿ|
ಭರ್ತುಃ ಕಮಲ ಪತ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾನಂ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣಸ್ಯ ಚ||6||
ಯಾನಿ ರಾಮಸ್ಯ ಚಿಹ್ನಾನಿ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣಸ್ಯ ಚ ಯಾನಿ ವೈ|
ಲಕ್ಷಿತಾನಿ ವಿಶಾಲಾಕ್ಷೀ ವದತಃ ಶ್ರುಣು ತಾನಿ ಮೇ||7||

ಸ|| ವೈದೆಹ್ಯಾ ಏವಂ ಉಕ್ತಸ್ತು ತತಃ ಹನುಮಾನ್ ಮಾರುತಾತ್ಮಜಃ ರಾಮಂ ತತ್ತ್ವಂ ಆಖ್ಯಾತುಂ ಉಪಚಕ್ರಮೇ|| ವೈದೇಹಿ ಮಾಂ ಪರಿಪೃಚ್ಛಸಿ ಬತ ಕಮಲಪತ್ರಾಕ್ಷೀ ದಿಷ್ಟ್ಯಾ ಭರ್ತುಃ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣಸ್ಯ ಚ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾನಂ ಜಾನಂತಿ ||ಯಾನಿ ರಾಮಸ್ಯ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣಸ್ಯಚ ಚಿಹ್ನಾನಿ ಯಾನಿ ವೈ ಲಕ್ಷಿತಾನಿ ತಾನಿ ವದತಃ | ಮೇ ಶ್ರುಣು||

When Vaidehi spoke like this , then Hanuman , the son of wind god started to describe Rama's form as is. " Oh Vaidehi, with eyes like lotus petals, it is my good fortune that you are asking about the form of Rama and Lakshmana though you know them. Those identification marks of Rama as well as Lakshmana I will now tell you. Please hear'.

ರಾಮಃ ಕಮಲಪತ್ರಾಕ್ಷಃ ಸರ್ವಸತ್ವಮನೋಹರಃ|
ರೂಪದಾಕ್ಷಿಣ್ಯ ಸಂಪನ್ನಃ ಪ್ರಸೂತೇ ಜನಕಾತ್ಮಜೇ||8||
ತೇಜಸಾಽಽದಿತ್ಯ ಸಂಕಾಶಃ ಕ್ಷಮಯಾ ಪೃಥಿವೀ ಸಮಃ|
ಬೃಹಸ್ಪತಿ ಸಮೋ ಬುದ್ದ್ಯಾ ಯಶಸಾ ವಾಸವೋಪಮಃ||9||
ರಕ್ಷಿತಾ ಜೀವಲೋಕಸ್ಯ ಸ್ವಜನ ಸ್ಯಾಭಿರಕ್ಷಿತಾ|
ರಕ್ಷಿತಾ ಸ್ವಸ್ಯ ವೃತ್ತಸ್ಯ ಧರ್ಮಸ್ಯ ಚ ಪರಂತಪಃ||10||
ರಾಮೋಭಾಮಿನಿ ಲೋಕಸ್ಯ ಚಾತುರ್ವರ್ಣಸ್ಯ ರಕ್ಷಿತಾ|
ಮರ್ಯಾದಾನಾಂ ಚ ಲೋಕಸ್ಯ ಕರ್ತಾ ಕಾರಯಿತಾ ಚ ಸಃ||11||

ಸ|| ಜನಕಾತ್ಮಜೇ ಪ್ರಸೂತೇ ರಾಮಃ ಕಮಲಪತ್ರಾಕ್ಷಃ | ಸರ್ವಸತ್ತ್ವ ಮನೋಹರಃ | ರೂಪದಾಕ್ಷಿನ್ಯ ಸಂಪನ್ನಃ||ತೇಜಸಾ ಆದಿತ್ಯ ಸಮಃ| ಕ್ಷಮಯಾ ಪೃಥಿವೀ ಸಮಃ| ಬುದ್ಧ್ಯಾ ಬೃಹಸ್ಪತಿ ಸಮಃ | ಯಶಸಾ ವಾಸವಃ ಉಪಮಃ||ಜೀವಲೋಕಸ್ಯ ರಕ್ಷಿತಾ | ಸ್ವಜನಸ್ಯಾಭಿ ರಕ್ಷಿತಾ| ಪರಂತಪಃ ಸ್ವಸ್ಯ ವೃತ್ತಸ್ಯ ಧರ್ಮಸ್ಯ ಚ ರಕ್ಷಿತಾ||ಹೇ ಭಾಮಿನಿ | ಲೋಕಸ್ಯ ಚಾತುರ್ವರ್ಣಸ್ಯ ರಕ್ಷಿತಾ |ಸಃ ಲೋಕಸ್ಯ ಮರ್ಯಾದಾನಾಂ ಕರ್ತಾ ಚ ಕಾರಯಿತಾ ಚ||

'Oh Daughter of Janaka ! Rama is born with eyes like the lotus petals. He is one who delights all beings endowed with a form reflecting politeness and charm. In glow he is equal to Sun, in forbearance he is equal to earth. In intelligence he is equal to Brihaspati. In fame he is equal to Indra. Protects all beings. Protects his own people. The destroyer of enemies, he protects his own race and the righteousness. Oh Beautiful lady ! He protects all the four classes of society. He follows the code of conduct and make other follow too'.

ಅರ್ಚಿಷ್ಮಾ ನರ್ಚಿತೋಽತ್ಯರ್ಥಂ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಚರ್ಯವ್ರತೇ ಸ್ಥಿತಃ|
ಸಾಧೂನಾಂ ಉಪಕಾರಜ್ಞಃ ಪ್ರಚಾರಜ್ಞಃ ಶ್ಚ ಕರ್ಮಣಾಮ್||12||
ರಾಜವಿದ್ಯಾ ವಿನೀತಶ್ಚ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣನಾಮುಪಾಸಿತಾ|
ಶ್ರುತವಾನ್ ಶೀಲಸಂಪನ್ನೋ ವಿನೀತಶ್ಚ ಪರಂತಪ||13||
ಯಜುರ್ವೇದ ವಿನೀತಶ್ಚ ವೇದವಿದ್ಭಿಃ ಸುಪೂಜಿತಃ|
ಧನುರ್ವೇದೇಚ ವೇದೇಷು ವೇದಾಂಗೇಷು ಚ ನಿಷ್ಠಿತಃ||14||

ಸ|| ಅತ್ಯರ್ಥಂ ಅರ್ಚಿಷ್ಮಾನ್ ಅರ್ಚಿತಃ | ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಚರ್ಯ ವ್ರತೇ ಸ್ಥಿತಃ | ಸಾಧೂನಾಂ ಉಪಕಾರಜ್ಞಃ ಕರ್ಮಣಾಂ ಪ್ರಚಾರಜ್ಞಃ ಚ||ಸಃ ರಾಜವಿದ್ಯಾ ವಿನೀತಃ | ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣಾನಾಂ ಉಪಾಸಿತಾ ಚ| (ಸಃ) ಪರಂತಪಃ ಶ್ರುತವಾನ್ ಶೀಲಸಂಪನ್ನಃ ವಿನೀತಃ ಚ||ಯಜುರ್ವೇದ ವಿನೀತಃ | ವೇದವ್ದ್ಭಿಃ ಸುಪೂಜಿತಃ ಚ|| ವೇದೇಷು ವೇದಾಂಗೇಷು ಧನುರ್ವೇದೇ ಚ ನಿಷ್ಠಿತಃ||

He is intensely luminous and worshipped. He is steadfast in observing the vows of self-control. He recognizes the right actions of sages. He knows the rites and administration too. He knows the statecraft. He is devotee of Brahmans. The destroyer of enemies is one who has heard the Vedas, He is disciplined and endowed with excellent conduct. Well versed in Yajurveda. respected by those who know Vedas. He is expert in Vedas and other parts of Vedas and the art of the bow.

ವಿಪುಲಾಂಸೋ ಮಹಾಬಾಹುಃ ಕಂಬುಗ್ರೀವಃ ಶುಭಾನನಃ|
ಗೂಢಜತ್ರುಃ ಸುತಾಮ್ರಾಕ್ಷೋ ರಾಮೋ ದೇವಿ ಜನೈಶ್ರುತಃ||15||
ದುಂದುಭಿ ಸ್ವನ ನಿರ್ಘೋಷಃ ಸ್ನಿಗ್ಧವರ್ಣಃ ಪ್ರತಾಪವಾನ್|
ಸಮ ಸ್ಸಮವಿಭಕ್ತಾಂಗೋ ವರ್ಣಂ ಶ್ಯಾಮಂ ಸಮಾಶ್ರಿತಃ||16||

ಸ|| ದೇವಿ ವಿಪುಲಾಂಸಃ ಮಹಾಬಾಹುಃ ಕಂಬುಗ್ರೀವಃ ಶುಭಾನನಃ ಘೂಢಜತ್ರುಃ ಸುತಾಮ್ರಾಕ್ಷಃ ರಾಮಃ ಜನೈಃ ಶ್ರುತಃ||ದುಂದುಭಿಸ್ವನ ನಿರ್ಘೋಷಃ ಸ್ನಿಗ್ಧವರ್ಣಃ ಪ್ರತಾಪವಾನ್ ಸಮಃ ಸಮವಿಭಕ್ತಾಂಗಃ ಶ್ಯಾಮಂ ವರ್ಣಂ ಸಮಾಶ್ರಿತಃ ||

'Oh Devi ! He is broad shouldered, long armed, with conch shaped neck, with auspicious looks, round shouldered and coppery eyed, he is heard by people. With voice like that of dundubhi , with shining beautiful complexion, full of valor, of equal proportions, his limbs are of equal proportions too. He is of dark color'.

ತ್ರಿಸ್ಥಿರಃ ತ್ರಿಪ್ರಲಂಬಶ್ಚ ತ್ರಿಸಮಃ ತ್ರಿಷುಚೋನ್ನತಃ|
ತ್ರಿತಾಮ್ರ ತ್ರಿಷು ಚ ಸ್ನಿಗ್ಧೋ ಗಂಭೀರ ತ್ರಿಷು ನಿತ್ಯಶಃ||17||
ತ್ರಿವಲೀವಾಂ ಸ್ತ್ರ್ಯವನತಃ ಚತುರ್ವ್ಯಂಗಃ ತ್ರಿಶೀರ್ಷವಾನ್|
ಚತುಷ್ಕಲಃ ಚತುರ್ಲೇಖಃ ಚತುಷ್ಕಿಷ್ಕುಃ ಚತುಸ್ಸಮಃ||18||

ಸ|| ತ್ರಿಸ್ಥಿರಃ ತ್ರಿಪ್ರಲಂಬಶ್ಚ ತ್ರಿಸಮಃ ತ್ರಿಷು ಚ ಉನ್ನತಃ ಸ್ನಿಗ್ಧಃ ನಿತ್ಯಶಃ ತ್ರಿಷು ಗಂಭೀರಃ ||ತ್ರಿವಲೀವಾಂ ಸ್ತ್ರ್ಯವನತಃ ಚತುರ್ವ್ಯಂಗಃ ತ್ರಿಶೀರ್ಷವಾನ್ ಚತುಷ್ಕಲಃ ಚತುಶ್ಕಿಷ್ಕುಃ ಚತುಸ್ಸಮಃ ||

'He is firm at three places, long in three places, with three even parts. He is elevated in three places, raised in three parts too. He has coppery reddish color in three parts and majestic. With three folds on his neck, has nipples and soles under the feet which are depressed. Four parts of his body are depressed. He has three spirals in his head. He has four lines on his thumb, four lines on his forehead, and has four well-proportioned parts'.

ಚತುರ್ದಶ ಸಮದ್ವಂದ್ವಃ ಚತುರ್ದಂಷ್ಟ್ರಃ ಚತುರ್ಗತಿಃ|
ಮಹೋಷ್ಠಹನುನಾಸಶ್ಚ ಪಂಚಸ್ನಿಗ್ಧೋsಷ್ಟವಂಶವಾನ್||19||
ದಶಪದ್ಮೋ ದಶಬೃಹ ತ್ತ್ರಿಭಿರ್ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತೋ ದ್ವಿಶುಕ್ಲವಾನ್|
ಷಡುನ್ನತೋ ನವತನುಃ ತ್ರಿಭಿರ್ವ್ಯಾಪ್ನೋತಿ ರಾಘವಃ||20||
ಸತ್ಯಧರ್ಮಪರಃ ಶ್ರೀಮಾನ್ ಸಂಗ್ರಹಾನುಗ್ರಹೇ ರತಃ|
ದೇಶಕಾಲವಿಭಾಗಜ್ಞಃ ಸರ್ವಲೋಕಪ್ರಿಯಂ ವದಃ||21||
ಭ್ರಾತಾ ಚ ತಸ್ಯ ದ್ವೈಮಾತ್ರ ಸೌಮಿತ್ರಿ ರಪರಾಜಿತಃ|
ಅನುರಾಗೇಣ ರೂಪೇಣ ಗುಣೈಶ್ಚೈವ ತಥಾವಿಥಃ||22||

ಸ|| ಚತುರ್ದಶಸಮದ್ವಂದ್ವಃ ಚತುರ್ದಂಷ್ಟ್ರಃ ಚತುರ್ಗತಿಃ ಮಹೋಷ್ಟಹನುನಾಸಃ ಚ ಪಂಚಸ್ನಿಗ್ಧಃ ಅಷ್ಟವಂಶವಾನ್ || ದಶಪದ್ಮಃ ದಶಬೃಹಃ ತ್ರಿಭಿಃ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಃ ದ್ವಿಶುಕ್ಲವಾನ್ ಷಡುನ್ನತಃ ನವತನುಃ ತ್ರಿಭಿಃ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ನೋತಿ|| ಸತ್ಯಧರ್ಮಪರಃ ಶ್ರೀಮಾನ್ ಸಂಗ್ರಹಾನುಗ್ರಹೇ ರತಃ ದೇಶಕಾಲವಿಭಾಗಜ್ಞಃ ಸರ್ವಲೋಕಪ್ರಿಯಂ ವದಃ||ತಸ್ಯ ಭ್ರಾತಾ ಚ ದ್ವೈಮಾತ್ರಃ ಸೌಮಿತ್ರಿಃ ಅಪರಾಜಿತಃ ಅನುರಾಗೇಣ ರೂಪೇಣ ಗುಣೇನ ಚ ತಥಾವಿಧಃ||

'He has fourteen parts of his body well proportioned. Has four sharp teeth, has four movements, has sharp nose, charming lips and jaws, has five smooth parts, and eight parts of the body which are long. Has ten lotus like limbs. Ten well-proportioned limbs, covered with three aspects, white in two parts, elevated in six limbs, has nine features, and is covered with three glories. Follower of truth and righteousness, prosperous, accumulates and favorably disposed too. He endears himself to all with his sweet words. His brother of a different mother, son of Sumitra, undefeated, in form and virtues is similar to his brother'.

ತಾವುಭೌ ನರಶಾರ್ದೂಲೌ ತ್ವದ್ದರ್ಶನಸಮುತ್ಸುಕೌ|
ವಿಚಿನ್ವಂತೌ ಮಹೀಂ ಕೃತ್ಸ್ನಾಂ ಅಸ್ಮಾಭಿರಭಿಸಂಗತೌ||23||
ತ್ವಾಮೇವ ಮಾರ್ಗಮಾಣೌ ತೌ ವಿಚರಂತೌ ವಸುಂಧರಾಮ್|
ದದರ್ಶತು ರ್ಮೃಗಪತಿಂ ಪೂರ್ವಜೇನಾವರೋಪಿತಮ್||24||
ಋಶ್ಯಮೂಕಸ್ಯ ಪೃಷ್ಠೇ ತು ಬಹುಪಾದಪಸಂಕುಲೇ|
ಭ್ರಾತುರ್ಭಯಾರ್ತಮಾಸೀನಂ ಸುಗ್ರೀವಂ ಪ್ರಿಯದರ್ಶನಮ್||25||
ವಯಂ ತು ಹರಿರಾಜಂ ತಂ ಸುಗ್ರೀವಂ ಸತ್ಯಸಂಗರಮ್|
ಪರಿಚರ್ಯಾಸ್ಮಹೇ ರಾಜ್ಯಾತ್ ಪೂರ್ವಜೇನಾವರೋಪಿತಮ್||26||

ಸ|| ತೌ ಉಭೌ ನರಶಾರ್ದೂಲೌ ತ್ವತ್ ದರ್ಶನ ಸಮುತ್ಸುಕೌ ಮಹೀಂ ವಿಚಿನ್ವಂತೌ ಅಸ್ಮಾಭೀ ಅಭಿಸಂಗತೌ ಕೃತ್ಸ್ನಾಂ|| ತ್ವಾಂ ಏವ ಮಾರ್ಗಮಣೌ ವಸುಂಧರಾಂ ವಿಚಿನ್ವಂತೌ ಪೂರ್ವಜೇನ(ವಾಲಿನಾ) ಅವರೋಪಿತಂ ಮೃಗಪತಿಂ ( ಸುಗ್ರೀವಂ)ದದರ್ಶ||ಬಹುಪಾದಪ ಸಂಕುಲೇ ಋಷ್ಯಮೂಕಸ್ಯ ಪೃಷ್ಠೇ ಭ್ರಾತುಃ ಭಯಾರ್ತಂ ಪ್ರಿಯದರ್ಶನಂ ಸುಗ್ರೀವಂ ದದರ್ಶ||ವಯಂ ತು ಪೂರ್ವಜೇನ ರಾಜ್ಯಾತ್ ಅವರೋಪಿತಂ ಸತ್ಯಸಂಗರಂ ಹರಿರಾಜಂ ತಂ ಸುಗ್ರೀವಂ ಪರಿಚರ್ಯಾಮಹೇ||

Those two tigers among men eager to see you , searching the whole world came in contact with us. Searching for you on this earth, they saw Sugriva, the one thrown out by his brother ( Vali). On the mountain Rishyamuka filled with variety of trees, they saw Sugriva who is pleasing to the eyes, who is scared of his brother. We were serving the king of Vanaras Sugriva , who is committed to truth and who has been thrown out by his elder brother'.

ತತಸ್ತೌ ಚೀರವಸನೌ ಧನುಃ ಪ್ರವರಪಾಣಿನೌ|
ಋಶ್ಯಮೂಕಸ್ಯ ಶೈಲಸ್ಯ ರಮ್ಯಂ ದೇಶಮುಪಾಗತೌ||27||
ಸ ತೌ ದೃಷ್ಟ್ವಾ ನರವ್ಯಾಘ್ರೌ ಧನ್ವಿನೌ ವಾನರರ್ಷಭಃ|
ಅವಪ್ಲುತೋ ಗಿರೇಸ್ತಸ್ಯ ಶಿಖರಂ ಭಯಮೋಹಿತಃ||28||
ತತಃ ಸ ಶಿಖರೇ ತಸ್ಮಿನ್ ವಾನರೇಂದ್ರೋ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಿತಃ|
ತಯೋಃ ಸಮೀಪಂ ಮಾಮೇವ ಪ್ರೇಷಯಾಮಾಸ ಸತ್ವರಮ್||29||

ಸ|| ತತಃ ತೌ ಚೀರವಸನೌ ಧನುಃ ಪ್ರವರಪಾಣಿನೌ ಋಷ್ಯಮೂಕಸ್ಯ ಶೈಲಸ್ಯ ರಮ್ಯಂ ದೇಶಂ ಉಪಾಗತೌ ||ಸಃ ವಾನರರ್ಷಭಃ ತೌ ನರವ್ಯಾಘ್ರೌ ದೃಷ್ಟ್ವಾ ಭಯಮೋಹಿತಃ ತಸ್ಯ ಗಿರೇಃ ಶಿಖರಂ ಅವಪ್ಲುತೌ || ಸಃ ವಾನರೇಂದ್ರಃ ತಸ್ಮಿನ್ ಶಿಖರೇ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಿತಃ ತತಃ ತಯೋಃ ( ರಾಮಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣಯೋಃ) ಸಮೀಪಂ ಮಾಂ ಏವ ಸತ್ವರಂ ಪ್ರೇಷಯಾಮಾಸ||

'Then the two clad in bark clothes, carrying their bows reached the beautiful place on the Rishyamuka mountain. The bull among Vanaras seeing the two tigers among men, scared jumped up to the peak of the mountain. That king of Vanaras sitting on the mountain top quickly sent me to meet the two'.

ಸ|| ಅಹಂ ಸುಗ್ರೀವವಚನಾತ್ ಪ್ರಭೂ ಪುರುಷವ್ಯಾಘ್ರೌ ರೂಪಲಕ್ಷಣಸಂಪನ್ನೌತೌ ಕೃತಾಂಜಲಿಃ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತಃ ||ಪರಿಜ್ಞಾತ ತತ್ತ್ವಾರ್ಥೌ ಪುರುಷರ್ಷಭೌ ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಮನ್ವಿತೌ ತಂ ಮಯಾ ಪೃಷ್ಠಮಾರೋಪ್ಯ ದೇಶಂ ಪ್ರಾಪಿತೌ ||ಮಹಾತ್ಮನೇ ಸುಗ್ರೀವಾಯ ತತ್ತ್ವೇನ ನಿವೇದಿತೌ ತಯೋಃ ಅನ್ಯೋನ್ಯ ಸಲ್ಲಾಪಾತ್ ಭೃಶಂ ಪ್ರೀತಿಃ ಅಜಾಯತ||ತತಃ ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಂಪನ್ನೌ ಹರೀಶ್ವರ ನರೇಶ್ವರೌ ಪೂರ್ವವೃತ್ತ ಕಥಯಾ ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಕೃತ ಆಶ್ವಾಸೌ||

' On the orders of Sugriva I stood in front of the two lords, the tigers among men endowed with charming disposition and auspicious looks. Realizing their true disposition, I placed those tigers among men with pleasing disposition on my back and carried them back to our place. I faithfully reported on the two great souls to Sugriva. Both of them talked to each other and fond friendship developed. Then full of joy , the king of men and king of Vanaras assured each other with the stories of the past'.

ತದಾಸೀನ್ನಿಷ್ಪ್ರಭೋಽತ್ಯರ್ಥಂ ಗ್ರಹಗ್ರಸ್ತ ಇವಾಂಶುಮಾನ್||36||

ಸ|| ತತಃ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಹೇತೋಃ ಭ್ರಾತ್ರಾ ವಾಲಿನಾ ನಿರಸ್ತಂ ಸುಗ್ರೀವಂ ಉರುತೇಜಸಾ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣಾಗ್ರಜಃ ಸಾಂತ್ವಯಾಮಾಸ||ತತಃ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣಃ ಅಕ್ಲಿಷ್ಟಕರ್ಮಣಃ ರಾಮಸ್ಯ ತ್ವನ್ನಾಶಜಂ ಶೋಕಂ ವಾನರೇಂದ್ರಸ್ಯ ಸುಗ್ರೀವಾಯ ನ್ಯವೇದಯತ್ ||ಸಃ ವಾನರೇಂದ್ರಃ ತು ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣೇನ ಈರಿತಂ ವಚಃ ತದಾ ಗ್ರಹಗ್ರಸ್ತಃ ಅಂಶುಮಾನ್ ಇವ ಅತ್ಯರ್ಥಂ ನಿಷ್ಪ್ರಭಃ ಆಸೀತ್ ||

' The elder brother of Lakshmana consoled Sugriva who was thrown out because of a woman. Then Lakshmana informed the king of Vanaras, Sugriva about Rama who is adept at accomplishing difficult tasks, and his grief on account of your loss. The king of Vanaras too on hearing the words spoken by Lakshmana, became luster less like the Sun overshadowed by a planet Rahu.'

ತಾನ್ಯಂಕೇ ದರ್ಶನೀಯಾನಿ ಕೃತ್ವಾ ಬಹುವಿಧಂ ತವ|
ತೇನ ದೇವ ಪ್ರಕಾಶೇನ ದೇವೇನ ಪರಿದೇವತಮ್||40|

ಸ|| ತತಃ ತ್ವತ್ ಗಾತ್ರಶೋಭೀನಿ ಯಾನಿ ಆಭರಣಜಾಲಾನಿ ಮಹೀತಲೇ ಪಾತಿತಾನಿ (ದರ್ಶಯಾಮಾಶುಃ)||ಹರಿಯೂಧಪಾಃ ತಾನಿ ಸರ್ವಾಣಿ ಆನೀಯ ಸಂಹೃಷ್ಟಾ ರಾಮಾಯ ದರ್ಶಯಾಮಾಸ| ತವ ಸು ಗತಿಂ ತು ನ ವಿದುಃ||ಮಯೈವ ಉಪಹೃತಾನಿ ತಾನಿ ರಾಮಾಯ ದತ್ತಾನಿ | ತಸ್ಮಿನ್ ವಿಗತಚೇತಸಿ ಸ್ವನವಂತಿ ಅವಕೀರ್ಣಾನಿ || ದರ್ಶನೀಯಾನಿ ತವ ತಾನಿ ಅಂಕೇ ಕೃತ್ವಾ ದೇವಪ್ರಕಾಶೇನ ತೇನ ದೇವೇನ ಬಹುವಿಧಂ ಪರಿದೇವಿತಮ್||

Then those ornaments worn by you and thrown away on the ground while being carried away by the Rakshasa were shown. The Vanara leaders brought all those ornaments to show to Rama with great joy. They had no idea of your whereabouts. I collected those ornaments and gave them to Rama. He lost his senses on seeing those jingling ornaments scattered around. The divine self who is effulgent like gods, wailed in many ways placing the ornaments on his lap.

ಪಶ್ಯತಸ್ತಾನಿ ರುದತ ಸ್ತಾಮ್ಯತಶ್ಚ ಪುನಃ ಪುನಃ|
ಪ್ರಾದೀಪಯನ್ ದಾಶರಥೇಸ್ತಾನಿ ಶೋಕಹುತಾಶನಮ್||41||
ಶಯಿತಂ ಚ ಚಿರಂ ತೇನ ದುಃಖಾರ್ತೇನ ಮಹಾತ್ಮನಾ|
ಮಯಾಪಿ ವಿವಿಧೈರ್ವಾಕ್ಯೈಃ ಕೃಛ್ಛಾ ದುತ್ಥಾಪಿನಃ ಪುನಃ||42||
ತಾನಿ ದೃಷ್ಟ್ವಾ ಮಹಾಬಾಹುಃ ದರ್ಶಯಿತ್ವಾ ಮುಹುರ್ಮುಹುಃ|
ರಾಘವಃ ಸಸೌಮಿತ್ರಿಃ ಸುಗ್ರೀವೇ ಸ ನ್ಯವೇದಯತ್||43||
ಸ ತ್ವಾದರ್ಶನಾದಾರ್ಯೇ ರಾಘವಃ ಪರಿತಪ್ಯತೇ|
ಮಹತಾ ಜ್ವಲತಾ ನಿತ್ಯಮಗ್ನಿನೇವಾಗ್ನಿ ಪರ್ವತಃ||44||

ಸ|| ತಾನಿ ಪಶ್ಯತಃ ರುದತಃ ಪುನಃ ಪುನಃ ತಾಮ್ಯತಶ್ಚ ದಾಶರಥೇಃ ಶೋಕಹುತಾಶನಂ ತಾನಿ ಪ್ರದೀಪವಾನ್ ||ದುಃಖಾರ್ತೇನ ತೇನ ಮಹಾತ್ಮನಾ ಶಯಿತಂ ಚ ಮಯಾಪಿ ವಿವಿಧೈಃ ವಾಕ್ಯೈಃ ಕೃಚ್ಛಾತ್ ಪುನಃ ಉತ್ಥಾಪಿತಃ ||ತಾನಿ ದೃಷ್ಟ್ವಾ ಮಹಾಬಾಹುಃ ಮುಹುಃ ಮುಹುಃ ದರ್ಶಯಿತ್ವಾ ರಾಘವಃ ಸ ಸೌಮಿತ್ರಿಃ ಸುಗ್ರೀವೇ ನ್ಯವೇದಯತ್ ||ಆರ್ಯ ಸಃ ರಾಘವಃ ತವ ಅದರ್ಶನಾತ್ ನಿತ್ಯಂ ಮಹತಾ ಅಗ್ನಿನಾ ಅಗ್ನಿಪರ್ವತ ಇವ ಜ್ವಲತೇ ಪರಿತಪ್ಯತೇ ||

Seeing them again and again the grief in him was inflamed like fire. Rama the great self-immersed in sorrow lay down on the ground, I also consoled him with many words and with great difficulty. The long armed Rama along with Lakshmana looked at them ( ornaments) again and again and gave them to the care of Sugriva. Oh Respectable lady ! Because of not being able to see you , he is always blazing like the fire on a mountain on fire.

ತ್ವತ್ಕೃತೇ ತಮನಿದ್ರಾ ಚ ಶೋಕಶ್ಚಿಂತಾ ಚ ರಾಘವಮ್|
ತಾಪಯಂತಿ ಮಹಾತ್ಮಾನಮಗ್ನ್ಯಗಾರ ಮಿವಾಗ್ನಯಃ||45||
ತವಾದರ್ಶನ ಶೋಕೇನ ರಾಘವಃ ಪ್ರವಿಚಾಲ್ಯತೇ|
ಮಹತಾ ಭೂಮಿಕಂಪೇನ ಮಹಾನಿವ ಶಿಲೋಚ್ಚಯಃ||46||
ಕಾನನಾನಿ ಸುರಮ್ಯಾಣಿ ನದೀಃ ಪ್ರಸ್ರವಣಾನಿ ಚ|
ಚರನ್ ನ ರತಿಮಾಪ್ನೋತಿ ತ್ವಾ ಮಪಶ್ಯನ್ ನೃಪಾತ್ಮಜೇ||47||

ಸ|| ತ್ವತ್ಕೃತೇ ಮಹಾತ್ಮಾನಂ ತಂ ರಾಘವಂ ಅನಿದ್ರಾ ಚ ಶೋಕಃ ಚಿಂತಾ ಚ ಅಗ್ನ್ಯಗಾರಂ ಅಗ್ನಯಃ ಇವ ತಾಪಯಂತಿ ||ತವ ಅದರ್ಶನ ಶೋಕೇನ ರಾಘವಃ ಮಹತಾ ಭೂಮಿಕಂಪೇನ ಮಹಾನ್ ಶಿಲೋಚ್ಛಯಃ ಇವ ಪ್ರವಿಚಾಲ್ಯತೇ ||ತ್ವಾಂ ಅಪಶ್ಯನ್ ಸುರಮ್ಯಾಣಿ ಪ್ರಸ್ರವಣಾನಿ ಚರನ್ ನೃಪಾತ್ಮಜಃ ರತಿಂ ನ ಆಪ್ನೋತಿ ||

'On account of you the great man is consumed by three fires of sleeplessness, sorrow and concern like the sacred fires of the sacred fire place. Because of not being able to see you Raghava is shaken like a lofty mountain by an earth quake. Not being able to see you , the king is not delighted even when he goes to delightful forests, rivers and streams'.

ಸಹಿತೌ ರಾಮಸುಗ್ರೀವಾವುಭಾವಕುರುತಾಂ ತದಾ|
ಸಮಯಂ ವಾಲಿನಂ ಹಂತುಂ ತವಚಾನ್ವೇಷಣಂ ತಥಾ||49||
ತತಸ್ತಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ಕುಮಾರಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ವೀರಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ಸ ಹರೀಶ್ವರಃ|
ಕಿಷ್ಕಿಂಧಾಂ ಸಮುಪಾಗಮ್ಯ ವಾಲೀ ಯುದ್ಧೇ ನಿಪಾತಿತಃ||50||
ತತೋ ನಿಹತ್ಯ ತರಸಾ ರಾಮೋ ವಾಲಿನ ಮಾಹವೇ|
ಸರ್ವೇಷಾಂ ಹರಿ ಸಂಘಾನಾಂ ಸುಗ್ರೀವಮಕರೋತ್ ಪತಿಮ್||51||

ಸ|| ಜನಕಾತ್ಮಜೇ ಮನುಜಶಾರ್ದೂಲಃ ರಾಘವಃ ಸಮಿತ್ರಬಾಂಧವಂ ರಾವಣಂ ಹತ್ವಾ ತ್ವಾಂ ಕ್ಷಿಪ್ರಂ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ಸ್ಯತಿ ||ತದಾ ರಾಮಸುಗ್ರೀವೌ ಉಭೌ ಸಹಿತೌ ವಾಲಿನಂ ಹಂತುಂ ತಥಾ ತವ ಚ ಅನ್ವೇಷಣಂ ಸಮಯಂ ಅಕುರುತಾಮ್ ||ತತಃ ಸ ಹರೀಶ್ವರಃ ತಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ವೀರಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ಕುಮಾರಾಭ್ಯಂ ಸಹ ಕಿಷ್ಕಿಂಧಾಂ ಉಪಾಗಮ್ಯ ಯುದ್ಧೇ ವಾಲೀ ನಿಪಾತಿತಃ||ತತಃ ರಾಮಃ ಆಹವೇ ತರಸಾ ವಾಲಿನಂ ನಿಹತ್ಯ ಸುಗ್ರೀವಂ ಸರ್ವೇಷಾಂ ಹರಿಸಂಘಾನಾಂ ಪತಿಂ ಅಕರೋತ್ ||

'Oh Daughter of Janaka ! The tiger among men Raghava along with all his friends will kill Ravana quickly and attain you. Both Rama and Sugriva reached an agreement to kill Vali and also search for you. Then that king of Vanaras came to Kishkindha along with the two heroic princess and killed Vali in a battle. Then Rama having killed Vali in a battle , made Sugriva as the king of all Vanara troops'.

ರಾಮಸುಗ್ರೀವಯೋರೈಕ್ಯಂ ದೇವ್ಯೇವಂ ಸಮಜಾಯತ|
ಹನುಮಂತಂ ಚ ಮಾಂ ವಿದ್ಧಿ ತಯೋರ್ದೂತಮಿಹಾಗತಮ್||52||
ಸ್ವರಾಜ್ಯಂ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ಯ ಸುಗ್ರೀವಃ ಸಮಾನೀಯ ಹರೀಶ್ವರಾನ್ |
ತ್ವದರ್ಥಂ ಪ್ರೇಷಯಾಮಾಸ ದಿಶೋ ದಶ ಮಹಾಬಲಾನ್ ||53||
ಅದಿಷ್ಟಾ ವಾನರೇಂದ್ರೇಣ ಸುಗ್ರೀವೇಣ ಮಹೌಜಸಾ|
ಅದ್ರಿರಾಜ ಪ್ರತೀಕಾಶಾಃ ಸರ್ವತಃ ಪ್ರಸ್ಥಿತಾ ಮಹೀಮ್||54||

ಸ|| ದೇವೀ ರಾಮಸುಗ್ರೀವಯೋಃ ಇಕ್ಯಂ ಏವಂ ಸಮಜಾಯತ | ಮಾಂ ತಯೋಃ ದೂತಂ ಇಹ ಆಗತಂ ಚ ಹನುಮಂತಂ ವಿದ್ಧಿ | ಸುಗ್ರೀವಃ ಸ್ವರಾಜ್ಯಂ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ಯ ಹರೀಶ್ವರಾನ್ ಸಮಾನೀಯ ತ್ವದರ್ಥಂ ದಶ ದಿಶಃ ಮಹಾಬಲಾನ್ ಪ್ರೇಷಯಾಮಾಸ||ವಾನರೇಂದ್ರೇಣ ಮಹೌಜಸಾ ಸುಗ್ರೀವೇಣ ಅದಿಷ್ಟಾಃ ಅದ್ರಿರಾಜಪ್ರತೀಕಾಶಃ ಮಹೀಂ ಸರ್ವತಃ ಪ್ರಸ್ಥಿತಾ||

'Oh Devi ! The union of Rama Sugriva happened in this way. Know me as Hanuman. I have come here as their messenger. Sugriva having got back his kingdom, got together all Vanaras and sent them in search of you in all directions. The king of Vanaras , the very powerful Sugriva has ordered Vanaras as huge as king of mountains to all parts of the earth'.

ತತಸ್ತು ಮಾರ್ಗಾಮಾಣಾವೈ ಸುಗ್ರೀವ ವಚನಾತುರಾಃ|
ಚರಂತಿ ವಸುಧಾಂ ಕೃತ್ಸ್ನಾಂ ವಯಮನ್ಯೇ ಚ ವಾನರಾಃ||55||
ಅಂಗದೋ ನಾಮ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀವಾನ್ ವಾಲಿಸೂನು ರ್ಮಹಾಬಲಃ|
ಪ್ರಸ್ಥಿತಃ ಕಪಿಶಾರ್ದೂಲಃ ತ್ರಿಭಾಗಬಲಸಂವೃತಃ||56||
ತೇಷಾಂ ನೋ ವಿಪ್ರಣಷ್ಟಾನಾಂ ವಿಂಧ್ಯೇ ಪರ್ವತಸತ್ತಮೇ|
ಭೃಶಂ ಶೋಕಪರೀತಾನಾ ಮಹೋರಾತ್ರಗಣಾ ಗತಾಃ||57||

ಸ|| ತತಃ ತೇ ವಯಂ ಅನ್ಯೇ ವಾನರಾಃ ಚ ಸುಗ್ರೀವ ವಚನಾತುರಾಃ ಮಾರ್ಗಮಾಣಾಃ ಕೃತ್ಸ್ನಾಂ ವಸುಧಾಂ ಚರಂತಿ ||ವಾಲಿಸೂನುಃ ಮಹಾಬಲಃ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀವಾನ್ ತ್ರಿಭಾಗಬಲಸಂವೃತಃ ಕಪಿಶಾರ್ದೂಲಃ ಅಂಗದಃ ನಾಮ ಪ್ರಸ್ಥಿತಃ ||ವಿಂಧ್ಯೇ ಪರ್ವತಸತ್ತಮೇ ವಿಪ್ರಣಷ್ಟಾನಾಮ್ ಭೃಶಂ ಶೋಕಪರೀತಾನಾಂ ತೇಷಾಂ ನಃ ಅಹೋರಾತ್ರಗಣಾಃ ಗತಾಃ||

'Then we and other Vanaras , bound by Sugriva's words , are moving about the earth in search of you. The Son of Vali, called Angada , powerful , prosperous, together with one third of the army departed in search of you. In the mountains of Vindhya we spent many days and nights greatly immersed in sorrow and lost our way'.

ತೇ ವಯಂ ಕಾರ್ಯನೈರಾಶ್ಯಾತ್ ಕಾಲಸ್ಯಾತಿಕ್ರಮಣೇ|

ಅನಾಸಾದ್ಯ ಪದಂ ದೇವ್ಯಾಃ ಪ್ರಾಣಾಂ ಸ್ತ್ಯಕ್ತುಂ ಸಮುದ್ಯತಾಃ||59||
ದೃಷ್ಟ್ವಾ ಪ್ರಾಯೋಪವಿಷ್ಟಾಂಶ್ಚ ಸರ್ವಾನ್ ವಾನರಪುಂಗವಾನ್|
ಭೃಶಂ ಶೋಕಾರ್ಣವೇ ಮಗ್ನಃ ಪರ್ಯದೇವಯದಂಗದಃ||60||

ಸ|| ತೇ ವಯಂ ಕಾರ್ಯನೈರಾಶ್ಯಾತ್ ಕಾಲಸ್ಯ ಅತಿಕ್ರಮೇಣ ಚ ಕಪಿರಾಜಸ್ಯ ಭಯಾತ್ ಚ ಪ್ರಾಣಾಮ್ ತ್ಯಕ್ತುಂ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಿತಾಃ||ವನದುರ್ಗಾಣಿ ಗಿರಿಪ್ರಸ್ರವಣಾನಿ ಚ ವಿಚಿತ್ಯ ದೇವ್ಯಾಃ ಪದಂ ಅನಾಸಾದ್ಯ ಪ್ರಾಣಾಂ ತ್ಯಕ್ತುಂ ಸಮುದ್ಯತಾಃ |ಪ್ರಾಯೋಪವಿಷ್ಟಾನ್ ಸರ್ವಾನ್ ವಾನರಾನ್ ದೃಷ್ಟ್ವಾ ಅಂಗದಃ ಭೃಶಂ ಶೋಕಾರ್ಣವೇ ಮಗ್ನಃ ಪರ್ಯದೇವಯತ್ ||

'All of us very much disheartened for not accomplishing the task, with time exceeded, and being afraid of the king of Vanaras , were ready to give up our lives. Having searched the impenetrable forest forts, mountain streams , unable to see the feet of the Devi, we decided to give up life. Seeing all the Vanaras ready for facing death , Angada himself plunged in intense fire of sorrow , was very much grieved'.

ತವ ನಾಶಂ ಚ ವೈದೇಹಿ ವಾಲಿನಶ್ಚ ವಧಂ ತಥಾ|
ಪ್ರಾಯೋಪವೇಶಮಸ್ಮಾಕಂ ಮರಣಂ ಚ ಜಟಾಯುಷುಃ||61||
ತೇಷಾಂ ನ ಸ್ಸ್ವಾಮಿಸಂದೇಶಾ ನ್ನಿರಾಶಾನಾಂ ಮುಮೂರ್ಷತಾಂ|
ಕಾರ್ಯಹೇತೋ ರಿವಾಯತ ಶ್ಶಕುನಿ ರ್ವೀರ್ಯವಾನ್ ಮಹಾನ್||62||
ಗೃಧರಾಜಸ್ಯ ಸೋದರ್ಯಃ ಸಂಪಾತಿರ್ನಾಮ ಗೃಧರಾಟ್|
ಶ್ರುತ್ವಾ ಭಾತೃವಧಂ ಕೋಪಾತ್ ಇದಂ ವಚನಮಬ್ರವೀತ್||63||

ಸ|| ವೈದೇಹೀ ತವ ನಾಶಂ ಚ ವಾಲಿನಃ ವಧಃ ಚ ಜಟಾಯುಷುಃ ಮರಣಂ ಚ ಅಸ್ಮಾಕಂ ಪ್ರಾಯೋಪವೇಶಂ ||ಸ್ವಾಮಿಸಂದೇಶಾತ್ ನಿರಾಶಾನಾಮ್ ಮುಮೂರ್ಷತಾಂ ತೇಷಾಂ ನಃ ಕಾರ್ಯಹೇತೋಃ ಇವ ವೀರ್ಯವಾನ್ ಮಹಾಶಕುನಿಃ ಆಯಾತಃ || ಗೃಧರಾಜಸ್ಯ ಸೋದರಃ ಗೃಧರಾಟ್ ಸಂಪಾತಿಃ ನಾಮ ಭಾತೃವಧಂ ಕೋಪಾತ್ ಇದಂ ವಚನಮ್ ಅಬ್ರವೀತ್||

' Oh Vaidehi ! That you were not found, death of Vali , and death of Jatayu all led to our decision to die. As though to help those disappointed in being unable to meet kings orders, and set to die, powerful gigantic bird came. Brother of king of birds called Sampati , angered on hearing the killing of his brother said the following words'.

ಯವೀಯಾನ್ಕೇನ ಮೇ ಭ್ರಾತಾ ಹತಃ ಕ್ವ ಚ ನಿಪಾತಿತಃ|
ಏತ ದಾಖ್ಯಾತು ಮಿಚ್ಚಾಮಿ ಭವದ್ಭಿಃ ವಾನರೋತ್ತಮಾಃ||64||
ಅಂಗದೋ ಽಕಥಯ ತ್ತಸ್ಯ ಜನಸ್ಥಾನೇ ಮಹದ್ವಧಮ್|
ರಕ್ಷಸಾ ಭೀಮರೂಪೇಣ ತ್ವಾ ಮುದ್ದಿಶ್ಯ ಯಥಾತಥಮ್||65||
ಜಟಯುಷೋ ವಧಂ ಶ್ರುತ್ವಾ ದುಃಖಿತ ಸ್ಸೋಽರುಣಾತ್ಮಜಃ|
ತ್ವಾಂ ಶಶಂಸ ವರಾರೋಹೇ ವಸಂತೀಂ ರಾವಣಾಲಯೇ||66||
ತಸ್ಯ ತದ್ವಚನಂ ಶ್ರುತ್ವಾ ಸಂಪಾತೇಃ ಪ್ರೀತಿವರ್ಧನಮ್|
ಅಂಗದಪ್ರಮುಖಾ ಸ್ತೂರ್ಣಂ ತತಃ ಸಂಪ್ರಸ್ಥಿತಾ ವಯಮ್||67||

ಸ|| ವಾನರೋತ್ತಮಃ ಮೇ ಯಾವೀಯಾನ್ ಭ್ರಾತಾ ಕೇನ ಹತಃ ಕ್ವ ಚ ನಿಪಾತಿತಃ ಭವದ್ಭಿಃ ಏತತ್ ಆಖ್ಯಾತುಂ ಇಛ್ಛಾಮಿ ||ತ್ವಮ್ ಉದ್ದಿಶ್ಯ ಅಂಗದಃ ಭೀಮರೂಪೇನ ರಕ್ಷಸಾ ಜನಸ್ಥಾನೇ ಮಹದ್ವಧಂ ಯಥಾಗತಂ ತಸ್ಯ ಅಕಥಯತ್ || ವರಾರೋಹೇ ಸಃ ಅರುಣಾತ್ಮಜಃ ಜಟಾಯುಷಃ ವಧಃ ಶುತ್ವಾ ದುಃಖಿತಃ ತ್ವಾಂ ರಾವಣಾಲಯೇ ವಸಂತೀಂ ಶಶಂಸ||ತಸ್ಯ ಸಂಪಾತೇಃ ಪ್ರೀತಿವರ್ಧನಂ ತತ್ ವಚನಂ ಶ್ರುತ್ವಾ ಅಂಗದಪ್ರಮುಖಾಃ ವಯಂ ತೂರ್ಣಮ್ ತತಃ ಪ್ರಸ್ಥಿತಃ||

"Oh Best of Vanaras by whom was my younger brother killed ? Where was he dropped down? I want to hear all of that from you". Angada narrated to him how he was killed by the dreadful Rakshasa as it happened, as he tried to rescue you. Oh Best among women ! Hearing about the death of Jatayu, the son of Aruna, grieved he said that you are in Ravana's palace. Then hearing that words Sampati increasing the happiness, Angada and others including all of us quickly departed from there'.

ವಿಂಧ್ಯಾ ದುತ್ಥಾಯ ಸಂಪ್ರಾಪ್ತಾಃ ಸಾಗರಸ್ಯಾಂತ ಮುತ್ತರಮ್|
ತ್ವದ್ದರ್ಶನಕೃತೋತ್ಸಾಹಾ ಹೃಷ್ಟಾಃ ತುಷ್ಟಾಃ ಪ್ಲವಂಗಮಾಃ||68||
ಅಂಗದಪ್ರಮುಖಾಸ್ಸರ್ವೇ ವೇಲೋಪಾಂತ ಮುಪಸ್ಥಿತಾಃ|
ಚಿಂತಾಂ ಜಗ್ಮುಃ ಪುನರ್ಭೀತಾಃ ತ್ವದ್ದರ್ಶನಸಮುತ್ಸಕಾಃ||69||
ಅಥಾಹಂ ಹರಿಸೈನ್ಯಸ್ಯ ಸಾಗರಂ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷ್ಯ ಸೀದತಃ|
ವ್ಯವಧೂಯ ಭಯಂ ತೀವ್ರಂ ಶತಂ ಪ್ಲುತಃ||70||

ಸ|| ಪ್ಲವಂಗಮಾಃ ತ್ವತ್ ದರ್ಶನಕೃತೋತ್ಸಾಹಾಃ ಹೃಷ್ಟಾಃ ತುಷ್ಟಾಃ ವಿಂಧ್ಯಾತ್ ಉತ್ಥಾಯ ಸಾಗರಸ್ಯ ಉತ್ತರ ಅಂತಂ ಸಮ್ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತಾಃ||ಅಂಗದಪ್ರಮುಖಾಃ ಸರ್ವೇ ತ್ವತ್ ದರ್ಶನಮುತ್ಸುಕಾಃ ವೇಲೋಪಾಂತಂ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತಾಃ ಭೀತಾಃ ಪುನಃ ಚಿಂತಾಂ ಜಗ್ಮುಃ||ಅಥ ಅಹಂ ಸಾಗರಂ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷ್ಯ ಸೀದತಃ ಹರಿಸೈನ್ಯಸ್ಯ ತೀವ್ರಂ ಭಯಂ ವ್ಯವಧೂಯ ಯೋಜನಾನಾಂ ಶತಂ ಪ್ಲುತಃ||

'The Vanaras anxious to see you , delighted , satisfied , flew up from Vindhyas and reached the northern shores of the ocean. Angada and others anxious to see you standing on the shores of the ocean were afraid and again started thinking. Then seeing the desperate mood of the Vanara army , setting aside fear I leapt ( across the sea of ) hundred yojanas'.

ಲಂಕಾ ಚಾಪಿ ಮಯಾ ರಾತ್ರೌ ಪ್ರವಿಷ್ಟಾ ರಾಕ್ಷಸಾಕುಲಾ|
ರಾವಣಶ್ಚ ಮಯಾ ದೃಷ್ಟಃ ತ್ವಂ ಚ ಶೋಕಪರಿಪ್ಲುತಾ||71||
ಏತತ್ತೇ ಸರ್ವ ಮಾಖ್ಯಾತಂ ಯಥಾವೃತ್ತ ಮನಿಂದಿತೇ|
ಅಭಿಭಾಷಸ್ವ ಮಾಂ ದೇವಿ ದೂತೋ ದಾಶರಥೇ ರಹಮ್||72||
ತಂ ಮಾಂ ರಾಮಕೃತೋದ್ಯೋಗಂ ತ್ವನ್ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಮಿಹಾಗತಮ್|
ಸುಗ್ರೀವ ಸಚಿವಂ ದೇವಿ ಬುದ್ದ್ಯಸ್ವ ಪವನಾತ್ಮಜಮ್||73||

ಸ|| ರಾಕ್ಷಸಾಕುಲಾ ಲಂಕಾ ಚ ಅಪಿ ಮಯಾ ರಾತ್ರೌ ಪ್ರವಿಷ್ಟಾ ಮಯಾ ರಾವಣಶ್ಚ ದೃಷ್ಟಃ ಶೋಕಪರಿಪ್ಲುತಾ ತ್ವಂ ಚ||ಅನಿಂದಿತೇ ದೇವಿ ಏತತ್ ಯಥಾವೃತಂ ತೇ ಆಖ್ಯಾತಂ | ಮಮ ಅಭಿಭಾಷಸ್ವ | ಅಹಂ ದಾಶರಥೇಃ ದೂತಃ||ದೇವಿ ರಾಮಕೃತೋದ್ಯೋಗಂ ತ್ವನ್ನಿಮಿತ್ತಂ ಇಹ ಆಗತಂ ತಂ ಮಾಮ್ ಸುಗ್ರೀವ ಸಚಿವಂ ಪವನಾತ್ಮಜಂ ಬುದ್ಧ್ಯಸ್ವ||

'I entered city of Lanka filled with Rakshasas in the night , I have seen Ravana and you too immersed in sorrow. Oh! Blameless lady ! I have narrated this as it happened. Please speak to me. I am messenger of Dasarathi. Oh Devi ! Know me, who has taken up Rama's mission for you and come here as the minister of Sugriva and son of wind god'.

ಕುಶಲೀ ತವ ಕಾಕುತ್ಸ್ಥ ಸರ್ವಶಸ್ತ್ರಭೃತಾಂ ವರಃ|
ಗುರೋರಾರಾಧನೇ ಯುಕ್ತೋ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣಶ್ಚ ಸುಲಕ್ಷಣಃ||74||
ತಸ್ಯ ವೀರ್ಯವತೋ ದೇವಿ ಭರ್ತುಃ ತವ ಹಿತೇ ರತಃ|
ಅಹಮೇಕಸ್ತು ಸಂಪ್ರಾಪ್ತಃ ಸುಗ್ರೀವ ವಚನಾದಿಹ||75||
ಮಯೇಯ ಮಸಹಾಯೇನ ಚರತಾ ಕಾಮರೂಪಿಣಾ|
ದಕ್ಷಿಣಾ ದಿ ಗನುಕ್ರಾಂತಾ ತ್ವನ್ಮಾರ್ಗವಿಚಯೈಷಿಣಾ||76||

ಸ|| ಸರ್ವಶಸ್ತ್ರಭೃತಾಂ ವರಃ ತವ ಕಾಕುತ್ಸ್ಥಃ ಕುಶಲೀ | ಗುರೋಃ ಆರಾಧನೇ ಯುಕ್ತಃ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣಃ ಚ ||ದೇವಿ ವೀರ್ಯವತಃ ತವ ಭರ್ತುಃ ತಸ್ಯ ಹಿತೇ ರತಃ ಅಹಂ ಸುಗ್ರೀವ ವಚನಾತ್ ಇಹ ಏಕಃ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತಃ||ತ್ವನ್ಮಾರ್ಗವಿಚಯೈಷಿಣಾ ಕಾಮರೂಪಿಣಾ ಅಸಹಾಯೇನ ಚರತಾ ಮಯಾ ಇಯಂ ದಕ್ಷಿಣಾ ದಿಕ್ ಅನುಕ್ರಾಂತಾ||

' The best among wielders of all weapons your Kakutstha is keeping well. Lakshmana involved in the service of his master is well too. Oh Devi ! Desirous of the welfare of your husband , I have come alone here on the orders of Sugriva. While moving in search of you , without any help, being able to assume any form, moving in southerly direction reached this place'.

ದಿಷ್ಟ್ಯಾಹಂ ಹರಿಸೈನ್ಯಾನಾಂ ತ್ವನ್ನಾಶ ಮನುಶೋಚತಾಮ್|
ಅಪನೇಷ್ಯಾಮಿ ಸಂತಾಪಂ ತವಾಭಿಗಮಶಂಸನಾತ್||77||
ದಿಷ್ಟ್ಯಾ ಹಿ ಮಮ ನ ವ್ಯರ್ಥಂ ದೇವಿ ಸಾಗರ ಲಂಘನಮ್|
ಪ್ರಾಪ್ಸ್ಯಾ ಮ್ಯಹ ಮಿದಂ ದಿಷ್ಟ್ವಾ ತ್ವದ್ದರ್ಶನಕೃತಂ ಯಶಃ||78||
ರಾಘವಶ್ಚ ಮಹಾವೀರ್ಯಃ ಕ್ಷಿಪ್ರಂ ತ್ವಾ ಮಭಿಪತ್ಸ್ಯತೇ|
ಸಮಿತ್ರ ಬಾಂಧವಂ ಹತ್ವಾ ರಾವಣಂ ರಾಕ್ಷಸಾಧಿಪಮ್||79||

ಸ|| ದಿಷ್ಟ್ಯಾ ಅಹಂ ತ್ವನ್ನಾಶಂ ಹರಿಸೈನ್ಯಾನಾಂ ಸಂತಾಪಂ ತವ ಅಭಿಗಮಶಂಸನಾತ್ ಅಪನೇಷ್ಯಾಮಿ||ದೇವಿ ದಿಷ್ಟ್ಯಾ ಮಮ ಸಾಗರಲಂಘನಂ ನ ವ್ಯರ್ಥಮ್ | ದಿಷ್ಟ್ಯಾ ಅಹಂ ತ್ವದ್ದರ್ಶನಕೃತಂ ಇದಂ ಯಶಃ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ಸ್ಯಾಮಿ ||ಮಹಾವೀರಃ ರಾಘವಃ ಚ ಸಮಿತ್ರಬಾಂಧವಂ ರಾಕ್ಷಸಾಧಿಪಂ ರಾವಣಂ ಹತ್ವಾ ಕ್ಷಿಪ್ರಂ ತ್ವಾಂ ಅಭಿಪತ್ಸ್ಯತೇ||

'Fortunately, for the Vanara army grieving worried about you loss, letting them know will dispel their sorrow. Oh Devi ! Fortunately the effort of jumping across the ocean is not wasted. Fortunately I will attain the fame of seeing you here. The great hero Raghava along with his friends having killed Rama will get you back quickly'.

ಮಾಲ್ಯವಾನ್ನಾಮ ವೈದೇಹಿ ಗಿರಿಣಾ ಮುತ್ತಮೋ ಗಿರಿಃ|
ತತೋ ಗಚ್ಛತಿ ಗೋಕರ್ಣಂ ಪರ್ವತಂ ಕೇಸರೀ ಹರಿಃ ||80||
ಸ ಚ ದೇವರ್ಷಿಭಿರ್ದಿಷ್ಟಃ ಪಿತಾ ಮಮ ಮಹಾಕಪಿಃ|
ತೀರ್ಥೇ ನದೀ ಪತೇಃ ಪುಣ್ಯೇ ಶಂಬಸಾದನ ಮುದ್ದರತ್||81||
ತಸ್ಯಾಹಂ ಹರಿಣಃ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರೇ ಜಾತೋ ವಾತೇನ ಮೈಥಿಲಿ|
ಹನುಮಾನಿತಿ ವಿಖ್ಯಾತೋ ಲೋಕೇಸ್ವೇನೈವ ಕರ್ಮಣಾ||82||

ಸ|| ವೈದೇಹೀ ಗಿರೀಣಾಂ ಉತ್ತಮಃ ಮಾಲ್ಯವಾನ್ ನಾಮ ಗಿರಿಃ ತತಃ ಕೇಸರೀ ಹರಿಃ ಗೋಕರ್ಣಂ ಪರ್ವತಂ ಗಚ್ಛತಿ||ದೇವರ್ಷಿಭಿಃ ದಿಷ್ಟಃ ಮಾಮ್ ಪಿತಾ ಸಃ ಮಹಾಕಪಿಃ ನದೀಪತೇಃ ಪುಣ್ಯೇ ಶಂಬಸಾದನಂ ಉದ್ಧರತ್||ಮೈಥಿಲಿ ತಸ್ಯ ಹರಿಣಃ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರೇ ವಾತೇನ ಜಾತಃ ಸ್ವೇನ ಕರ್ಮಣಾ ಏವ ಲೋಕೇ ಹನುಮಾನ್ ಇತಿ ವಿಖ್ಯಾತಃ||

' Oh Vaidehi ! Mountain named Malyavan is one of the best. From there Kesari, a Vanara went to mountain Gokarna. There predicted by the divine sages, he , a great Vanara and my father among the holy river which is lord of all rivers, killed Samabasadana. Oh Maithili ! In that monkeys land born of wind god , I am known to all as Hanuman by my own acts'.

ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಾರ್ಥಂ ತು ವೈದೇಹಿ ಭರ್ತುರುಕ್ತಾ ಮಯಾ ಗುಣಾಃ|
ಅಚಿರಾತ್ ರಾಘವೋ ದೇವಿ ತ್ವಾ ಮಿತೋ ನಯಿತಾಽನಘೇ||83||
ಏವಂ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಿತಾ ಸೀತಾ ಹೇತುಭಿಃ ಶೋಕಕರ್ಶಿತಾ|
ಉಪಪನ್ನೈ ರಭಿಜ್ಞಾನೈ ರ್ದೂತಂ ತಮವಗಚ್ಛತಿ||84||
ಅತುಲಂ ಚ ಗತಾ ಹರ್ಷಂ ಪ್ರಹರ್ಷೇಣ ಚ ಜಾನಕೀ|
ನೇತ್ರಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ವಕ್ರಪಕ್ಷ್ಮಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ಮುಮೋಚಾನಂದಜಂ ಜಲಂ||85||

ಸ|| ವೈದೇಹಿ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಾರ್ಥಂ ಮಯಾ ಭರ್ತುಃ ಗುಣಾಃ ಉಕ್ತಾಃ | ದೇವಿ ರಾಘವಃ ಅಚಿರಾತ್ ತ್ವಾಂ ಇತಃ ನಯಿತಾ ಅನಘೇ| ಶೋಕಕರ್ಶಿತಾ ಸೀತಾ ಏವಂ ಹೇತುಭಿಃ ವಿಶ್ವಶಿತಾ ಉಪಪನ್ನೈಃ ಅಭಿಜ್ಞಾನೈಃ ತಂ ದೂತಂ ಅವಗಚ್ಛತಿ||ಜಾನಕೀ ಅತುಲಂ ಹರ್ಷಂ ಗತಾ ಚ ಪ್ರಹರ್ಷೇಣ ವಕ್ರಪಕ್ಷ್ಮಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ನೇತ್ರಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ಆನಂದಜಂ ಜಲಂ ಮುಮೋಚ||

'Oh Vaidehi ! to give you confidence I have described all the qualities. Oh Devi Raghav will soon take you from here'. Sita immersed in sorrow, presented with reasons identified, identified him as the messenger of Rama. Janaki then experienced immeasurable happiness, and shed tears of happiness through the curved eyelashes of her eyes.

ಚಾರು ತದ್ವದನಂ ತಸ್ಯಾ ಸ್ತಾಮ್ರಶುಕ್ಲಾಯತೇಕ್ಷಣಂ|
ಅಶೋಭತ ವಿಶಾಲಾಕ್ಷ್ಯಾ ರಾಹುಮುಕ್ತ ಇವೋಡುರಾಟ್||86||
ಹನುಮಂತಂ ಕಪಿಂ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಂ ಮನ್ಯತೇ ನಾನ್ಯಥೇತಿ ಸಾ|
ಅಥೋವಾಚ ಹನುಮಾಂಸ್ತಾಮುತ್ತರಂ ಪ್ರಿಯದರ್ಶನಾಮ್||87||

ಸ|| ವಿಶಾಲಾಕ್ಷಾಯಾಃ ತಸ್ಯಾಃ ಚಾರು ತಾಮ್ರಶುಕ್ಲಾಯತೇಕ್ಷಣಂ ತತ್ ವದನಂ ರಾಹುಮುಕ್ತಃ ಉಡ್ಡುರಿವ ಅಶೋಭತ||ಸಾ ಹನುಮಂತಂ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಂ ಕಪಿಂ ಮನ್ಯತೇ ಅನ್ಯಥಾ ಇತಿ ಅಥ ಹನುಮಾನ್ ಪ್ರಿಯದರ್ಶನಾಂ ತಾಂ ಉತ್ತರಂ ಉವಾಚ||

The face of the wide eyed lady Sita, with her large red eyes shone like the moon released from the shadow of Rahu. She realized that Hanuman is clearly a Vanara not any other. Then Hanuman looked at her who is pleasing to look at, and spoke.

ಏತತ್ತೇ ಸರ್ವಮಾಖ್ಯಾತಂ ಸಮಾಶ್ವಸಿಹಿ ಮೈಥಿಲಿ|
ಕಿಂಕರೋಮಿ ಕಥಂ ವಾತೇ ರೋಚತೇ ಪ್ರತಿಯಾಮ್ಯಹಮ್||88||

ಸ|| ಮೈಥಿಲಿ ಏತತ್ ಸರ್ವಂ ಆಖ್ಯಾತಂ ಸಮಾಶ್ವಸಿಹಿ| ಕಿಂ ಕರೋಮಿ ಕಥಂ ವಾ ರೋಚತೇ | ಅಹಂ ಪ್ರತಿಯಾಮಿ ||

'Oh Maithili , I have told you everything , calm down. What shall I do, or what pleases you. I will go back'.

ಹತೇಽಸುರೇ ಸಂಯತಿ ಶಂಬಸಾದನೇ
ಕಪಿಪ್ರವೀರೇಣ ಮಹರ್ಷಿ ಚೋದನಾತ್|
ತತೋಽಸ್ಮಿ ವಾಯುಪ್ರಭವೋ ಹಿ ಮೈಥಿಲಿ
ಪ್ರಭಾವತಃ ತತ್ಪ್ರತಿಮಶ್ಚ ವಾನರಃ||89||

ಸ|| ಮೈಥಿಲಿ ಸಂಯತಿ ಶಂಬಸಾದನೇ ಅಸುರೇ ಕಪಿಪ್ರವರೇಣ ಮಹರ್ಷಿಚೋದನಾತ್ ಹತೇ ಸತಿ ಅಥ ವಾಯುಪ್ರಭವಃ ಪ್ರಭಾವತಃ ತತ್ಪ್ರತಿಮಃ ವಾನರಃ ಅಸ್ಮಿ||

'Oh Maithili ! on the orders of great Rishis when the best of Vanaras killed Samabasadana, I was born with powers of Vayu and equal to Vayu'.

ಇತ್ಯಾರ್ಷೇ ಶ್ರೀಮದ್ರಾಮಾಯಣೇ ಆದಿಕಾವ್ಯೇ ವಾಲ್ಮೀಕೀಯೇ
ಚತುರ್ವಿಂಶತ್ ಸಹಸ್ರಿಕಾಯಾಂ ಸಂಹಿತಾಯಾಮ್
ಶ್ರೀಮತ್ಸುಂದರಕಾಂಡೇ ಪಂಚತ್ರಿಂಶಸ್ಸರ್ಗಃ||

Thus ends the Sarga thirty five of Sundarakanda in Ramayana ,the first poem ever composed in Sanskrit by the first poet sage Valmiki.
